Article 1 Volume 5 September 30, 2014
We sometimes get stuck on this one and that one. But believe me there are lots of ESH grads who have played major roles in homes, churches, communities, and society. We just have not been made aware of their achievements. I think of Elton Jenkins, 1958 graduate, and a few others who left Suffolk and had an impact on society in their chosen communities.
Usually, in our generated publications we name the same persons over and over. Unnamed, and perhaps unknown among East Suffolk grads are many millionaires. Some of the names would probably shock you.
Sadly, we usually get the news of our grads achievements as part of an obituary.
This publication is to let readers know that we will not be trying to figure out who are and were the most outstanding graduates.
Consider this view, in 1955, we started out with 5 packed homerooms in our 8th grade class. In 1960, for graduation, we only had three homerooms that consisted of about 110 students.
What happen to the approximate 80 students who didn't make it? I don't know.
Anyway, considering the time, the trials and tribulations so many students encountered, I am going to say, "If you are an East Suffolk High graduate, you are an outstanding person!"
.
I am open to publishing news about East Suffolk High grads or former students. Send the information to me.
