James attended East Suffolk High through his Junior year, and graduated from John F. Kennedy High in 1966.
He spent his early childhood on Baker Street in the Pleasant Hill community of Suffolk.
I remember him as a slugger on a youth softball team I coached in the Summer of 1960. Because of a particular family chore, he generally performed everyday near game time, we could not be certain what time he would arrive. Generally, he arrived before the game started. We would look up and see him and his little brother running toward the playing field from County Street and our anxiety would be reduced, because we could put another one of our sluggers in the line up, and increase our chances of winning.
Our playing field was between County and Spruce Streets near the railroad tracks. In those days we had to find a vacant field and set up our own playing field.
I remember that in his youthful years, he was an obedient and caring person.
James was a younger brother of David Louis Bullock who passed away in September 2012. My report on David's Obituary is in Article VII, Volume II, dated 10/31/2012 of this blog.
Information on his family was unavailable at the time of this report.
I extend my condolence to the family.
