David Louis Bullock, East Suffolk High grad, class of 1960, passed away on September 15, 2012.

Article VII, Volume II

David Louis Bullock, a member of East Suffolk High Class of 1960, passed away on September 15, 2012. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, four children, and several other relatives. His obituary was published in the Suffolk News Herald on September 18, 2012.

After graduating from high school in 1960, David joined the Army and served overseas.  While in the Army, he married one of Suffolk's finest, Marjorie Turner, a 1961 graduate of East Suffolk High.

David grew up on Baker Street in the Pleasant Hill Community of Suffolk.  He enjoyed participating in sandlot basketball.  He didn't pursue sports in high school, perhaps because he helped take care of his siblings and performed home chores after school.

I remember in sandlot basketball, David had an effective jump shot.

I stopped by David's home a few years ago. I'm not sure when, but at some point, David became a minister of the gospel.

Looking back, we spent a lot of time in the same classrooms and participated in some of the same after school activities in the community. He was highly respected in the community, and also by his classmates and teachers.
